Privately held mid-cap manufacturer of irrigation systems including mechanical and electrical components. Primary customer base is big box DIY retailers and over 1,000 branches of distribution.
Director (General Manager), Contractor Division
Managed Contractor Division with combined P&L's of over $200M. Direct reports were in sales, marketing, manufacturing, engineering and customer service. Responsibilities included leading 2 plants (Mexico and Azusa, CA) which manufactured over half of the company's product with its own manufacturing P&L. Also managed the sales programs and marketing communications for 4 SBU's.
Merchant Online Boca Raton, FL 2000 - 2001
Publicly held start-up business in the payments industry.Products included a stored value micro-payment system and proprietary debit/credit card reader for use on a PC.

Managed 7 plants in Mexico and the US with over 5,000 employees.Managed supply chain, distribution, manufacturing, and facilities. Held P&L responsibility for $26M injection molding operation.Division had revenues of over $1.2B and the manufacturing budget was ~$650M.
Successfully worked with 3 acquired companies (Coleman, Mr. Coffee and Signature Brands) to create a single operating organization in less than 18 months utilizing cascading metrics and common systems.
Implemented cross manufacturing for components within the businesses, purchasing councils, make vs. buy, inventory planning, working capital management, facility rationalization, and monthly performance reviews.

Managed 2 plants, 1,500 people, $120M budget and product engineering.Manufactured, engineered and distributed BBQ grills and Sunbeam scales.Managed supply chain, purchasing, distribution, manufacturing, community relations and quality.
Designed and implemented a 120 day turnaround/recovery program that resulted in improving profitability by $15M and stopped major customer defections while doubling productivity.
Implemented Lean techniques which delivered year over year reductions in COGS greater than 5% net of inflation.
Completely redesigned all BBQ grill products.Plant and product redesign addressed JIT material flow, live load/unload, bar coding, MRP (JDE) implementation, quick changeover for large punch presses, paint line layout and significant structural changes to the facility.
Improved productivity from 8.2 units/person/day to 21.5 units/person/day with doubled output.
