- Large physician group required practice management system be updated or replaced. Group was only collecting $0.42 for every Medicare allowed dollar after 240 days. HIPPA compliant system was implemented increasing collections by 129%, while halving the collection cycle.
- Set up HIPPA compliant in-house server/ VPN and Voice over IP (VOIP) system for multi-city physician practice. Reduced telephony costs to one quarter while improving system security.
- Created equipment monitoring system for manufacturing plant. System monitored machine ‘on’ time as well as activity. This information was compared with daily production numbers, determining machine efficiency. Information also allowed for better directed equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Created and implemented large inventory process and database for contract manufacturer. Nature of business required continuously changing space utilization to be able to handle production swings. Both the method of storing and database for monitoring were replaced. System increased effective use of warehouse space by 90% while improving speed of truck loading/unloading and nearly eliminating mis-shipments.
- Simplified server system for medium sized multi-site (3 offices and 16 satellites) physician practice. System experienced downtime due to equipment/ software failure/ conflict on a nightly basis. The resulting HIPPA system reduced the total servers from 18 to 2 clustered (ie redundant) machines. Failure dropped to an average of once per quarter, but service was never interrupted due to system redundancy. Allowed for reduction of IT staff from 11 to 3 full time employees.
- Designed and implemented HIPPA compliant high volume, multi-line fax system for medical company. System allowed for over 500 unique fax numbers; up to 23 concurrent faxes; Companywide archival of all faxes sent/ received; and Fax sending/ retrieval system by browser and/or email.
- Redesigned corporate phone/ fax/ data handling system. System included all hardware and new database software – built to incorporate existing system functionality. System resulted in an unintended complete overhaul of client’s personnel job functions and methods. Package cost in excess of $250,000 and required a full year to completely design and implement. Resulted in staff reductions of more than 60% with a cost savings of over $1.6mm per year. Support staff was reduced from 108 to 32 people.
