The IT Processes and Software Company
Physical™ focuses
on how well these resources align with company business
objectives, and covers the following vital aspects:
- Primary business processes
- Opportunities for improvement
and elimination of roadblocks
- High-level requirements
for new system needs
- How well the company manages change
when new processes and software are introduced
- Gap analysis – comparison
of current systems to an optimal system
- Software maintenance,
support and licensing
Primary business processes
Here we look at all the main systems that make the company
run:
- Manufacturing and inventory management
- Supply chain
- Delivery and shipping
- Personnel management
- Customer relations management
We assess what the company needs to run better, and
help determine what new and improved systems would improve
both productivity and bottom-line profitability in the
future.
Opportunities for improvement and elimination
of roadblocks
We map primary processes and look for discontinuities,
places systems “drop the ball” by failing to
tie together properly with little or no human intervention.
We look at manual operations that could easily and cheaply
be automated and integrated into the overall system. And
we identify areas where inadequate resources – computer
or manpower – is reducing productivity.
High-level requirements for new system
needs
Does the company’s systems meet corporate objectives?
We look for big opportunities to make radical improvement
through new processes or software, and make appropriate
recommendations for study projects to meet these needs.
How well the company manages change when new processes
and software are introduced
Too often the introduction of new processes and
software results in turmoil and greater loss of productivity
than necessary. The audit assesses how well the company
has dealt with these changes in the past and how well
it’s prepared for additional change in the future.
Gap analysis – comparison of current systems
to an optimal system
We assess major new processes and software the
company is considering, and identify gaps between what
they will provide and what the company needs. This can
help guide future strategic initiates.
Software maintenance, support and licensing
Al companies have a large investment in software,
and getting maximum value from it requires proper maintenance
and support, both inside the company and from outside
resources. How well company policies meet company needs
is assessed, as well as how well the company adheres
to licensing requirements (many companies have been shocked
to discover, too later, how draconian penalties for copyright
infringement can be!)
After the physical, we will provide you with a report
of our findings in each of these areas. Included in that
report will be a set of recommendations. The report will
provide you the basis for developing on-going and sustainable
continuous improvement systems in your operation. For more
